Rules
outsold.lol is a public leaderboard for digital products. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to optimise. Rank is the bid, and the bid is the only input.
How ranking works
- Bids are whole US dollars. A new listing starts at $1 and can go up to $999,999, in $1 steps.
- The number you enter is the total you want your listing to hold, not an amount added on top. A brand new listing pays that number in full.
- Raising a listing that is already on the board means entering the same URL or @handle again with a higher total. It has to be at least $1 above what the listing holds now, and you only pay the difference.
- The all-time board sorts by total paid, highest first. When two listings hold the same total, the one that got there first stays ahead.
- Today's board counts only what has been paid since midnight UTC, then starts again from zero. Every payment counts on both boards at once.
- Taking #1 is suggested at $1 above the current top bid, but any amount above a listing's total passes it. Bid less than the leader and you simply land wherever that number reaches.
- A rank is claimed when the payment confirms, never at the moment you press the button.
What you can list
- A digital product you sell or an X @handle. Courses, cohorts, coaching, ebooks, templates, prompts, Notion systems, memberships, newsletters, plugins, printables, audio.
- Links are cleaned before they are stored. Query strings and anchors are removed, so affiliate, referral and tracking parameters will not survive. Most sites get one listing per domain.
- Platform links are kept apart by their path, so two products on the App Store, Play Store, Gumroad, Whop, Etsy, Amazon, GitHub, the Chrome Web Store or Notion never share one bid.
- A shortened link is followed to wherever it really goes, and the destination is what gets listed.
- Group chat and invite links are out (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal). This is a board for products and the people who make them.
- Adult sites are out, and so are private addresses, local hosts and anything that is not a real https page.
- The title, description and icon are read from the page you submit. When a site blocks that, the listing still goes up with just its name.
- Categories are markets, not formats. You pick the one your product sells into at checkout, and if a listing ends up in the wrong one, ask and it gets moved.
After you pay
- Your listing is public straight away, on the all-time board, today's board and its category.
- Clicks on your row go through a redirect that counts them and adds
utm_source=outsold to the destination, so you can see the traffic in your own analytics. - The click count on your row is public. So is everything else about the listing.
- Someone paying more than you will push you down. That is the product working as intended, not a fault.
All bids final
- Payments are not refundable, including after you have been passed.
- A bid cannot be withdrawn, paused, or moved to a different URL or handle once it has confirmed.
- A listing that breaks the rules above can be removed from the board, and removal does not come with a refund.
- Buying a place here buys a place here. It is not an endorsement, a review, or any kind of check on what you are selling.
